Jiří Malík – Modelling of thermomechanical interaction in the context of the search for extraterrestrial life

Are we alone in the universe? Unfortunately, this question, that is as old as the humanity itself, will still remain unanswered after the presentation. Nevertheless, there are other questions for which we will try to give answers. What are the necessary conditions for life to exist on some other planet and how does it relate to the modelling of the thermomechanical interaction of ice and water?
Mathematical formulation specifics of this seemingly simple problem as well as suggested means of solving it will be adressed in the talk.
