Mark Dostalík – How to teach a computer to distinguish cats from dogs
Date: 31/10/2018 12:20
Place: Seminární místnost MÚUK
In this talk Mark Dostalík will explain how to write an algorithm to classify whether images contain either a dog or a cat. This is easy for humans, dogs, and cats. Computers find it a bit more difficult. The lecture will introduce you to the data-driven approaches that can tackle this problem – from the most naive ones (Nearest Neighbor Classifier) to the advanced state-of-the-art method (Convolutional Neural Networks).
You can look forward to the discussion with SIAM chapter members that will precede the talk. Nonalcoholic drinks and pizza included!
